Welcome to Amsterdam Castle!

Built in 1894 by the state of New York, Amsterdam Castle is a 36,000 square foot private residence, bed and breakfast, and event space. From film shoots to friendly overnights, the Phemister family welcomes you to their extraordinary home, filled with period furniture and modern conveniences. We have free wireless, cable tv and a dvd player in each room. Did we mention the billiard room and the 10,000 sq. ft gymnasium? Or if you're an outdoor fan, bike or stroll the nearby Erie Canalway!

Feeling romantic? Try the king-sized bed and claw foot tub in the Westlake Wing. Exhausted from all that history and fun? We have 3 delicious restaurants in walking distance.

Just a few more tidbits. We are actively green, and are pleased to be part of Audubon International's Green Hotel in NY program. We have a (friendly) golden retriever and 3 children ourselves, and we would love to have you over. However, we regret but we cannot accept guest pets.

For a romantic weekend or a family getaway, just give us a call or email us and we're happy to work with you.
